3 doctors injured by patient with machete at Shanghai hospital

A PATIENT injured three doctors with a machete this morning at the Shanghai No. 5 People’s Hospital in Minhang District, China Central TV reported.

It happened at around 10:40am. A Shanghai native, 50, carried a 20-centimeter machete and slashed the three doctors, who are reported to be in stable condition.

The patient was brought under control and by police five minutes later, and they placed him in custody.

It was reported that the man, with lymph cancer, was discharged from the hospital on Monday. Police are still investigating his motive.
