4 retailers detained for selling spy cameras
FOUR digital device shop owners were each given three months detention for selling spy cameras, the Xuhui District People’s Court announced yesterday.
The court said one of the shop owners, surnamed Cui, was persuaded by a salesman to stock pinhole cameras last September, after being told they could bring big profits to the retailer.
Cui bought batches of the devices — including hidden cameras which looked like watches, pens, car keys and buttons.
He sold two hidden camera “watches” to two foreigners before being caught.
The four retailers were held by police last December.
