50 officials charged for discipline issues
THE city’s Party discipline watchdog yesterday said about 50 officials have been punished this year for disciplinary offenses.
One of them was Zhu Qiheng, the former head of the Changning District Greenery and Public Sanitation Bureau. He was found to have “violated Party discipline” and his case has been passed to the judicial authorities, the discipline inspection commission said in a statement. It provided no other details.
Another person to have “violated” some rule or other was Gan Yongqin, chief supervisor of the Shanghai Jinshan Market Co. He, too, is being investigated for possible crimes by judicial authorities, the commission said.
About 40 of the officials facing punishments for breaches of the Party’s frugality rules worked in Songjiang District, it said.
Tan Aimin, Party chief for work safety administration, was sacked for organizing a trip to Inner Mongolia and the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous regions, paid for with public funds.
A total of 44 people who traveled with Tan were ordered to repay the cost of the trip, while three officials were given warnings.
