6 held for making fake soy sauce
Six suspects, who produced and sold fake Japanese soy sauce worth over 5.2 million yuan (US$849,160), were caught in five cities, local police said yesterday. Police in Minhang District found a warehouse on Xinzhu Road closed most of the time during their routine fire safety inspection in May.
After investigating, police found the company which owned the warehouse and discovered it was part of a network that made and sold fake condiments. Other suspects were caught in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong and Anhui provinces.
