7 hurt in vehicle crash

SEVEN people were injured, three of them critically, when a mini-bus and a cargo truck collided yesterday morning on Fute Road M. in the Shanghai free trade zone in the Pudong New Area, local news portal xinmin.cn reported.
According to a security guard who witnessed the event, the accident happened about 8:40am when the truck lost control and swerved into the oncoming traffic and hit the mini-bus, which was carrying people to work. The truck might have blown a tire, causing the driver to lose control, the report said. All of the people injured were on the mini-bus, it said. They are being treated at the Shanghai No. 7 People’s Hospital. Local traffic police said that they are investigating the cause of the accident.
