86kg of drugs seized

CUSTOMS officers found about 86 kilograms of khat, a mild narcotic popular in the Horn of Africa, in express mail over the weekend, officials said. The drug was found in six separate packages which arrived in Shanghai via from Africa between January 20 and February 8. The contents were confirmed by tests to be khat, or catha edulis. Investigations are continuing.
