A little relief from all that heat
THERE will be a short break from the dry and scorching weather today, forecasters say.
As soon as this year’s plum rain season ended last Wednesday, a heat wave swept across the city — with this year’s hottest days falling last Friday and Saturday, reaching a high of 36.7 degrees Celsius.
Sunshine started to weaken a little yesterday, when the high only reached 34 degrees. Today, the temperature is expected to range from 27 to 34 degrees and thunderstorms are due.
Cloudy weather is forecast for tomorrow, with thunderstorms probable in the afternoon. The unsettled weather conditions will be followed by the mercury climbing again. The temperature will rise to 36 degrees on Wednesday and 37 degrees on Thursday. On Friday, even the low temperature will reach close to 30 degrees.
Gales, lightning and hail may occur, and residents are advised to pay attention to the real-time forecast.
