Air-rail scheme ‘will halve price’
AN expanded air-rail ticket scheme launched yesterday will halve the price of services, officials claim.
The city’s air-rail combined service now covers all the major Yangtze River Delta cities, allowing passengers to transfer between a domestic or international flight and a train using a single ticket, the Shanghai Railway Bureau said. The service, which is jointly run by the bureau and major Chinese airlines, allows travelers to take a flight to either of Shanghai’s two airports and then transfer by rail free to neighboring cities.
