Alarm over man talking to mall girl

POLICE are investigating a complaint from a parent that a young man approached their 7-year-old daughter at a shopping mall on Hexing Road in Minhang District on Sunday afternoon and offered to give her money if she agreed to go with him, xinmin.cn reported.
It was one of several claims about children receiving unwanted attention from strangers that attracted attention on social networks this week.
Aforeign schoolgirl was “grabbed” by a stranger in a car on her way home from school on Tuesday in Minhang District, but police said that the stranger was just a taxi driver wondering if she needed a ride.
Agirl in Hongkou District “narrowly escaped being kidnapped” while waiting for a bus on Tuesday, but police concluded that the mentally challenged man had simply asked her a harmless question.
