Another man plunges to death at a downtown shopping mall
A man plunged to death at a shopping mall in downtown on Monday afternoon.
The unidentified man, who witnesses said was in his 50s, fell from the International Commerce Center on Huaihai Road M. at about 4pm, eastday.com reported.
Police found a note on him and ruled out the possibility of homicide.
Further investigation is under way.
This is the second suicide case at the shopping mall in less than a year. On July 2 last year, an elderly man also plunged to his death at the mall. Police had also found a note on him which said he was committing suicide because he suffered from a painful disease.
A local resident surnamed Li said the mall should add more screening glasses and enhance patrolling to prevent similar cases from happening again.
