App cashes in on date
UBER, a taxi hailing app, launched a promotional campaign in Shanghai and recruited 100 volunteers to deliver flowers and love letters for free to anyone who clicked on the “5.20” button on its app. The volunteers rode their bikes to make the deliveries between 12 and 3pm. The campaign proved popular for Uber with hundreds of pictures of people receiving gifts posted on social media sites.
“I made eight deliveries within two hours. Many people asked me to deliver flowers to their beloved, girlfriends or wives,” said Leo Zhang, a volunteer. “Some of them were surprised and a few others moved.”
