Baby is found in the nick of time

POLICE are looking for relatives of a new-born girl found in the bushes of a residential complex in Pudong early yesterday.
The baby had head wounds but was described as being in a steady health condition by Shanghai Children’s Medical Center.
She was wrapped with a towel with her umbilical cord uncut when discovered by a resident of a complex at 380 Lingyan Road S., Yangsi Town, about 7am. She was taken to the South Branch of Shanghai East Hospital.
The hospital said the girl, unconscious and cold with cyanosis all over her body, was hardly breathing and had a barely detectable heartbeat, but her life-threatening situation passed after two hours of treatment.
The baby girl had bleeding in the organs and a low body temperature when she was transferred to the medical center yesterday afternoon.
