Baby powder to be inspected

THE city's Food and Drug Administration is to inspect baby powder for the illegal use of huangdan, or litharge, a traditional Chinese medicine containing lead.

The State Food and Drug Administration also ordered all provincial FDAs to check baby powders and other powder cosmetics for poor-quality talcum and issued a standardized method for checking asbestos levels in talcum.
