A MIGRANT worker and his mother who abandoned an infant suffering from colitis because they couldn’t afford medical bills were sentenced to three years in prison with a three-year reprieve at a Shanghai court yesterday. The girl was found by a sanitation worker in a plastic bag in woods in the city’s Baoshan District on April 26 but died the next day.
