THE family of a man who died after hitting his head on a height restriction sign while standing up in the back of a moving truck has been awarded 930,000 yuan (US$144,000) in compensation.
Jiading District People’s Court ruled yesterday that the man’s employer and the company that erected the sign — which was meant to warn motorists of an upcoming overpass on Taishun Road in Jiading — were both negligent. The former was ordered to pay 590,000 yuan and the latter 340,000 yuan.
