Bicycle thief detained

A MAN who stole a bicycle worth 66,000 yuan (US$10,750) and then sold it on for just 300 yuan has been detained by police in Yangpu District.
The unemployed man stole the bike last month from a residential building on Shijie Road so he could get to his hometown where he’d been offered a job on a farm. He said he had no idea what the bike was worth and after getting home sold it to another man for 300 yuan. The owner of the bike, surnamed Cai, is a member of a mountain bike club and had it imported from the United States last year. The unnamed thief was detained on November 15.
