Blood donation bus smashed
A MAN faces seven days in detention after smashing a blood donation vehicle with a wooden stick, police said yesterday.
The man, surnamed Tian, who had donated blood earlier, was furious after his arm was swollen and decided to take matters in his own hands.
Tian donated blood at the blood donation vehicle at Shanghai Railway Station on December 12. He said his right arm kept aching and was swollen after the donation, making him unable to do physical work.
After drinking baijiu, or Chinese liquor, Tian approached the same vehicle about 1pm on Sunday, demanding answers from the medical staff inside. Not satisfied with their reply, Tian left and returned with a 1-meter-long stick and started smashing up the vehicle. He was later detained for vandalizing public property.
