Bogus brand food
SHANGHAI Customs officials yesterday announced the first case of counterfeit brand foods for export uncovered at city ports.
More than 55 tons of fake Jamila seasonings worth US$102,000 and bound for Africa were seized, said Shanghai Customs.
The bogus seasoning was shabbily packaged and was found to contain monosodium glutamate, salt and edible fragrance from Anhui Province, said officials.
