Bogus water ring smashed

A LOCAL industrial and commercial watchdog recently tracked down a hideout in Jiading District which was being used to produce bogus mineral water for drinking fountain barrels bearing the names of popular brands.
Officials confiscated more than 100 barrels of water along with labels of the "Qiandaohu" and "Moganshan" brands in the hideout, which was said to be in an unhygenic state. Officials found more than 800 self-printed "Qiandaohu" labels and 4,200 "Moganshan" labels, said the Shanghai Industrial and Commercial Administrative Bureau yesterday.
