Bomb hoax ‘revenge’
A MAN has been charged over making a hoax call claiming that there was a bomb in an arcade in Hongkou District, local prosecutors said yesterday.
Police received the call early on July 16 and the area was cordoned off and nearby residents evacuated. No bomb was found. The suspect was held five days later and is said to have told police that he made the call to take revenge on the arcade as he lost 50,000 yuan (US$8,144) playing illegal gambling machines there in the past year.
