Boss investigated for bribery

A former electrical company boss has been placed under investigation for bribery, Shanghai People’s Procuratorate announced yesterday.

Li Yaoxin, former chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the state-owned Shanghai INESA Group, has also been placed under “coercive measures,” a catch-all for everything from summons by force, to bail or arrest, prosecutors said.

He was investigated by the city’s anti-graft body for suspected violations in September 2016.

Li was the deputy director of Shanghai Development and Reform Commission in 2008. The following year, he became the director of Changning District.

From 2013 to 2016, he was director and deputy Party chief of Shanghai Economic and Information Commission.
