Boy, 6, home safe after his Disneyland misadventure

A 6-year-old boy, who attempted to go to Shanghai Disneyland on his own, is safe and back home.

The boy, who was not identified, left his home in Yangpu District in the afternoon, when his parents were away at work, Xinmin.cn reported yesterday.

He took Line 8 from Jiangpu Road Station, which is about a kilometer away from his home. He got down at People’s Square station, where he got lost.

A passer-by saw the boy and sent him back to the Jiangpu Road station, where the station chief called the police.

A police officer surnamed Li came to the station and asked him details about his home. However, the boy couldn’t remember the home address or any telephone number. He only mentioned Fengcheng No. 3 Community in Yangpu District.

Li took the boy to the community but still couldn’t find his home. They posted the information on their WeChat and shared it among the community residents. It was reposted about 1,000 times.

Two residents recognized the boy and told police that he actually lives in the neighboring Fengcheng No. 2 Community.

The boy was finally brought home at 10pm. The boy told the police that his parents had promised to take him to the Disneyland but never did. So he decided to go there himself.
