Brothers arrested for fraud

TWO brothers were arrested for sending fraudulent messages in June.
The brothers, surnamed Fu, drove a car with an illegal telecom base machine on board through the districts of Xuhui, Jiading and Fengxian.
The machine sent fraud messages to nearby phone users claiming that the phone owners’ bankcard online service needed to be extended.
A victim, surnamed Zhang, provided her bank card number and password to a link attached to the message. She later discovered that her savings of 17,777 yuan (US$2,666) in her bank account had been withdrawn.
