BUSINESSMAN Tang Xiafeng was sentenced to 14-and-a-half years in jail yesterday for embezzling 6.87 million yuan (US$1 million), the Minhang District People's Court ruled.
Tang, who headed Shanghai Yahu Construction and Decoration Co Ltd, embezzled 6.3 million yuan worth of construction materials and 570,000 yuan cash from construction projects in 2006 and 2007.
