Burned pop star undergoes surgery
TANG Anqi, a member of the popular girl group SNH48 who was badly burned in a freak accident last week, successfully underwent surgery on Friday, according to her management company.
Police said the 24-year-old accidentally set herself on fire with a cigarette lighter on Tuesday evening during an argument with a female friend at a cafe near Baoshan Wanda Plaza.
She remains in intensive care at Changhai Hospital of Shanghai, where she had arms operated on. She will be having another operation on her legs.
“About 100 fans came to donate blood this morning,” a fan of SNH48, surnamed Qin, told Shanghai Daily at the hospital on Saturday.
Another fan, surnamed Wang, said he came from Changzhou in Jiangsu Province with three friends to donate blood.
“The blood station doesn’t normally open on Saturday, but fans communicated with the hospital and were granted this opportunity,” he said.
“We all want to do something to help her.”
