Cabby loses license

A SHANGHAI taxi driver has been stripped of his operator’s license after being found guilty of overcharging a customer by taking a circuitous route, eastday.com reported yesterday. The unnamed cabby charged the victim 464 yuan (US$75) for the journey from Pudong International Airport to Oriental Land in Qingpu District. The driver’s chosen route stretched almost 124 kilometers, compared with an average of 90km, and took more than two hours to complete, the report said.
