Clearing procedures faster after airport renovation

A dozen self-service clearance channels were put into use yesterday at the entry section of the newly renovated Building A terminal of Hongqiao International Airport as it officially reopened.
There are now 54 clearance channels, nearly double the case before the move — including 12 self-service clearance channels.
Those eligible for using the self-service devices include Chinese citizens holding passports with biometric chips and having their fingerprints registered, Hong Kong and Macau residents with mainland travel passes, and foreigners holding biometric passports and residence permits valid for more than six months.
