A man who allegedly attempted to rob a jewelry store on Anshan Road in Yangpu District on Tuesday evening was captured by police within 24 hours.
The 32-year-old, surnamed Shang, who was on the run from police in Hubei Province, grabbed a gold necklace a shop assistant was showing him but dropped it on the ground as he fled the scene.
