Comedian Zhou sued by former partner
SHANGHAI comedian Zhou Libo is being sued by his former mentor Guan Dongtian to regain shares valued around 2 million yuan (US$295,202) in a company they both invested in.
This came three months after the pair split, adding to speculation that they broke up over money.
Changning District Court accepted the lawsuit by Guan and the court is expected to open the hearing next month.
Both Guan and Zhou were not available for comment by phone, reported website eastday.com today.
Zhou, 43, shot to fame in the city with Clean Talk, a comic show in Shanghainese dialect, early last year.
He drew negative feedback after he broke up with Guan, a renowned Peking Opera singer from Shanghai, who supported Zhou's career.
This came three months after the pair split, adding to speculation that they broke up over money.
