THE former residence of Zhang Leping, who created the comic book character San Mao — Three Hairs — is scheduled to open at the end of this year on the 105th anniversary of Zhang’s birth. Zhang lived in the house on Wuyuan Road in Xuhui District from 1950 till his death in 1992 and created a large number of his works there. Some 285 items belonging to Zhang will be displayed at the residence. They include a wooden Buddha figure dating back to between 907 and 1125.
