Complaints to consumer hotline up 23%

MORE unhappy shoppers contacted the city consumer hotline this Spring Festival holiday, with a 23 percent jump in complaints year on year.

Consumer hotline 12315 received more than 430 complaints, said the Shanghai Commission of Consumers' Rights and Interests Protection.

Around 100 consumers reported pricing irregularities in local hypermarkets - three times as many who complained about this during last year's holiday.

Other people said they had encountered difficulties contacting Internet services support staff during the holiday.
