Congestion to worsen

CONGESTION on the city’s roads and Metro network is expected to increase next month due to seasonal factors, traffic authorities said yesterday. As the onset of dusk gets earlier, so will there be a build-up of traffic on the roads. The arrival of ice and snow are also likely to result in more accidents, it said. This year’s dongzhi — an occasion similar to the Qingming Festival when families pay their respects to the dead — falls on December 22, which is a Monday. This means congestion is likely to be worse than normal.
