ZHENDING Chicken, a popular fast food chain serving chicken, has been charged with intellectual property violation. The children of Wang Zigan, a late paper-cutting artist, said the logo of the company - a red rooster - is their father's work. Wang created the paper-cut work in 1979, and it was considered his masterpiece.
His children found that the work was used by the company as its logo without authorization, widely posted on its ads and signboards. They are asking the court to order the company to stop using the logo and compensate them 525,000 yuan (US$82,284).
