Corpse found in Pudong creek bears physical resemblance to missing girl

PUDONG police have found a girl's corpse in a creek in the Yangsi area, and it bore a strong physical resemblance to a girl who had been missing for a week, officers said today.
They are now comparing the two's DNA and probing the case.
According to Pudong police, they received a report at 6pm yesterday, saying a child's body was found in Chuanyang Creek in Yangsi.
Police went to the scene and took the body out of the creek. The child’s appearance looked similar to Fu Sichen, the 4-year-old girl who went missing in Jinqiao Town on April 17.
Fu was last seen playing outside her home on Jinqiao Road, near Sanqiao Village, on the morning of April 17. But when her family went to check on her about 8:10am, she was nowhere to be seen.
When a search by relatives and friends failed to locate the child, her father called the police.
