Couriers to take the bus

A LOCAL courier firm has teamed up with a long distance bus operator to provide a new parcel delivery service.
YTO Express said yesterday it has signed an agreement to use space in the cargo holds of buses run by J.Y.BA-SHI.
The new service promises to deliver parcels from Shanghai to its neighboring provinces within a day. Staff from the firm will ride on the buses to oversee the process and deliver the packages to their intended destinations, it said.
The company said also it will open outlets at long distance bus stations in Shanghai and in neighboring cities where passengers can drop off their packages.
