Court sets double killer free
A HUSBAND who stabbed two men to death after being attacked by his wife's lover and his gang has walked free from court.
City prosecutors said yesterday that Luo Wenge, 36, had acted in self-defence.
A third man was injured in the incident.
Prosecutors said Luo killed his wife's lover, Wang Siyong, and accomplice Zhu Xiaozhi in a desperate struggle about 3am on June 2 last year.
Luo said he and his wife were sleeping when two "strangers," Wang and Zhu, broke into their home and attacked him with a brick.
Bleeding from head and facial wounds, Luo produced a knife and threatened the pair, but said he was struck again.
Luo told the court that he was afraid as blood from his wounds had flowed into his eyes, blinding him.
He was dragged outside where two other men joined the attack, the court heard.
Luo said he was struck by a flurry of blows and the only thing he could do was to wave his knife, which resulted in injuries to three assailants.
Wang and Zhu died in hospital of stab wounds, while a third attacker suffered light injuries during the fierce struggle, said prosecutors.
"I didn't mean to hurt them. I could do nothing but wave the knife and stab," Luo said.
