Court upholds graft sentence

THE Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate People's Court upheld the 12-year sentence given to Wang Yipeng, former deputy director of the Zhabei District Education Bureau.
Wang accepted 500,000 yuan (US$74,738) in bribes from a real estate company manager surnamed Zhuang in May 2005. The company bought a plot in May 2003 and transferred the land to the bureau when it found the land could be used only for education facilities.
