Crabs Too Clean

RESIDENTS should be careful when picking out crabs, as those with extremely clean looks may be whitened or bleached by chemicals that can damage human health, industry insiders warned yesterday.

"The process would only take one or two minutes to clean their bodies; otherwise the crabs may be poisoned to death, but the chemicals left on their bodies may be bad for human health," said an official surnamed Xia with a major crab farming base.
