Crocodile sent to zoo

A SIAMESE crocodile caught by residents in the Pengyuepu river in Zhabei District has been sent to the Shanghai Zoo by local greenery authorities. Officials said it was rare to spot crocodiles in river courses and it is likely that it was a pet that had been released when it grew too big. Wildlife protection authorities reminded residents not to raise crocodiles as pets.
