Cruise draws scrutiny

THE Shanghai Tourism Administration is investigating complaints about a recent cruise to Japan. HNA Cruises, the operator of the Chinese cruise ship Henna, has promised to give more than 200 yuan (US$32.25) to some 1,800 passengers.

The offer was made after more than 300 disgruntled tourists refused to leave the vessel on Monday morning following a voyage reportedly marred by scheduling problems and other issues.
