Customs hold 29 gold iPhones
A HONG Kong man is being investigated by Shanghai Customs after trying to bring 29 of the latest gold-colored iPhone 5S into the city without declaring them.
The 57-year-old man arrived in Shanghai Hongqiao Airport in a private plane from Hong Kong on October 16. Officers discovered the phones, worth an estimated 160,000 yuan (US$26,272), during an x-ray check on his luggage. The man claimed he bought the iPhones as gifts for friends in Shanghai. Customs confiscated the phones and an investigation is ongoing, said officials.
