Death sentence for drugged killer
A DRUG addict who fatally stabbed a passerby while high on heroin and methamphetamine has been sentenced to death, Shanghai No.2 People's Procuratorate said yesterday.
Ling Wei, 51, was hallucinating at the time of the attack, in which three other people were injured, said prosecutors. They said Ling had taken heroin once and methamphetamine twice while he was watching television on June 9 last year. He believed someone on TV asked him to go downstairs or his parents would be hurt. Ling armed himself with two knives and went outside. There he attacked passersby he thought would "do harm" to his parents.
