Diesel stealing gang busted

POLICE have arrested 12 suspects for stealing and reselling more than 200,000 yuan (US$30,000) worth of diesel from oil tank trucks in Jiading District.
The gang stole diesel at night when the drivers parked their trucks in desolate parking venues or back streets. On December 15, about 11 tons of diesel was stolen from six trucks from a parking lot in Loutang Village, the police said. The gang, which included a married couple, targeted trucks parked near Cao’an Highway, Bao’an Highway and Baoqian Highway, the three major highways cutting through Jiading District which are also major routes of heavy trucks moving in and out of the city.
