THE nation's largest blood platelet collection room has opened at the Shanghai Blood Center. The room can hold 18 people to donate platelets at the same time.
Shanghai needs 5,000 to 6,000 liters of platelets every year but it does not collect enough to meet demand. The Shanghai Blood Center hopes to collect 2,400 liters this year.
