‘Drunk driver’ wrecks cars

A drunk truck driver broke into a residential complex in Pudong early yesterday and damaged 17 cars parked there, police said.

They did not reveal the result of the driver’s alcohol test, but said he had been drink-driving and had been detained for the criminal offense.

The incident took place in Nanxindongyuan in Gaohang town near Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The driver, surnamed Zhang, was a 28-year-old man from Henan Province, police said.
