Drunk man falls asleep at wheel

A DRUNK driver who fell asleep at the wheel of his car while sitting in a line of traffic on Jiangxue Road in Songjiang District has been detained by police, Shanghai TV reported last night.
The incident happened about 8am on Tuesday and caused a major traffic jam, a police officer said in an interview.
Witnesses thought the man might have had a heart attack, so called an ambulance, the report said.
However, as police were investigating, he woke up and it became evident he was drunk, the officer said.
The man was taken to the local police station where he admitted to being intoxicated after drinking heavily the previous night, the report said.
