SHANGHAI will put into operation a citywide elevator emergency treatment platform this year, and more than 50,000 elevators will be included into the platform next year, allowing real-time online monitoring and management of these elevators with a response system in case of emergencies, the Shanghai Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau said yesterday.
The target is to create a smart elevator network of Shanghai’s more than 150,000 elevators .
