ZHU Jianguo, a political advisor, wants local television stations to add English subtitles to programs during the World Expo.
For foreign visitors, watching local television was an important way to learn about the city, Zhu said.
He suggested stations add English subtitles to programs played in prime time, if they couldn't do it for all programs, and to play more English movies and songs at night.
