Entangled scarf kills passenger in Jing鈥檃n

A woman was accidentally killed while riding on a vehicle driven by a disabled person on Tuesday afternoon on Gonghexin Road in Jing’an District, police said.
The vehicle’s driver, surnamed Gao, has been detained on suspicion of causing a traffic accident.
Police said they received a report about 4:30pm that a person had fainted while being driven on a vehicle and discovered at the scene that the woman, surnamed Sun, had been strangled by her scarf which had become tangled up in the wheel of the vehicle.
The woman was announced dead at the scene by doctors.
Vehicles for disabled people, with specially assigned plates, are banned from taking passengers.
