PAN Furen, former president of Shanghai No.1 Intermediate People's Court, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China due to severe discipline violations, the CPC Shanghai Commission for Discipline Inspection announced in a statement today.
Pan, 66, has severely violated frugality rules, including accepting huge bribes, taking advantage of his post to seek profits for others, and patronizing high-end private clubs, according to the commission.
As a Party member and cadre, Pan has lost his political beliefs and severely violated the Party rules, the commission said, adding that he has been expelled from the Party and his illegal gains have been confiscated. His case has also been transferred to judicial authorities.
